HFIA is a non-profit trade association [IRC 501(c)(6)] established in 1972 to provide government relations, community relations, and industry relations for the food industry in Hawaii.

HFIA produces the Made In Hawaii Festival as a Community Project.
                      2009 MADE IN HAWAII FESTIVAL

The Made In Hawaii Association was created by HFIA as a means of providing consumer assurance that the product does meet legal requirements to declare that the product is a Made In Hawaii product. Membership is $25 per year. A special formula application must be completed, and the firm is subject to inspection of the business location.

HFIA sponsors the HFIA Rainbow Fever Scholarships for Athletes Program which has donated over $1 million in scholarships to UH Athletes.

HFIA sponsors and supports the reduction of grocery bags, the promotion of reusable bags, the recycling of plastic bags, and the Knot Your Bag program to educate consumers that if they knot their bag before disposing of them, they will not become airborne.
