UPC Information
Although the Universal Product Code (UPC), or bar code, is not a legal requirement of government, most retailers have established it as a requirement. The UPC is a system for uniquely identifying the thousands of different suppliers and millions of different items sold through grocery stores. It provides an accurate,efficient and econom ical means of controlling the flow of goods through the use of an all-numeric product identification system.
